 Beside the acoustic brainwave stimulation (basic brainwave stimulator theory is explained in brainwave stimulator session so I am highly recommending you to take a look at it before reading this part) brain stimulation is possible with light too. Combination of acoustic brainwave stimulator and light brainwave stimulator is also very possible.
Light brainwave stimulator
I developed hardware and software for light brainwave stimulator.
Hardware part consist of eyeglasses with 4 light emitters (I used LED-s – light emitting diodes) on each glass. Eyeglasses are connected with computer’s parallel port using the standard parallel cable. Details on how to build those glasses yourself are currently available just in Croatian language, but I will try to do the translation soon as possible.

Software I wrote makes possible to program the rhythm of LED-s blinking completely as you want. As you can see in a picture it is highly configurable, so you can set frequency and duty cycle for each LED, also you can set frequency and duty cycle as functions of a time (using this you can get the effect of LED-s circling). I wrote a big manual that in detail explains every software function, but it’s still available just in Croatian.
Light brainwave stimulator
As the acoustic brainwave stimulator, this one is also designed, first of all, for testing and improving of visual brainwave stimulation methods. In combination with an EEG this system can do almost anything in visual brainwave stimulation area. Measuring of EEG during the stimulation is especially important because the EEG spectrum shows the efficiency of brain stimulation. And because this stimulation method is still under development it is necessary to have feedback information on any LED-s combination influence.
